Just about where this sprinkler is, a fountain will be installed by the Bank of Carbondale -- at the former site of the Jackson County Stage Company -- on the corner of Washington and Main. . . . Maybe ABC Liquors can paint a mural behind it to make it appear like a keg of beer gushing.

Andrea Hahn reports that Ray Lenzi and Gordon Plumb are promoting a
WasherZ tourney at Pig Out: "a WasherZ demonstration is
set for noon at the Town Square Pavilion tomorrow. Official WasherZ sets will be for sale as well."
The tournament is at 11 a.m. at the Pig Out site, 710 S. Illinois Avenue. Lenzi said the tournament would be held in "the flattest spot."
64 slots are available in both the individual and the team competition. Entry forms are available online at Carbondale Mainstreet and at various businesses throughout Southern Illinois.
