A one-minute video promotional spot for Carbondale's "Town Square" district with this message has been running on MediaCom cable, and in the Carbondale Times weekly newspaper:


In the Times, a $100 gift certificate to selected Carbondale Town Square shops or restaurants is being offered to some lucky person who can answer the following question:

What year was ABC Liquor Mart established in its current building?

The answer is given in the scrolling list of participating businesses in the OnMedia cable spot, which can be viewed Carbondale, Benton, and Duquoin MediaCom Cable on MSNBC, Comedy Central, the Food Network, WE, and other networks, from December 14-24.

If you don't have cable the video can be downloaded online in its entirety, or few second clip that contains the answer.

And if all else fails . . .

Fine Print Hint: It was a year Ike was on top (but not selling cars). The answer rhymes with "thrive"

Answers must be submitted via email or mailed to 201 E. Main St., Suite 1B, Carbondale, IL 62901, your name and contact info.

Deadline for submission. . . . MIDNIGHT, December 28, 2006. A drawing of all correct answers will be held at Art Lovers Trading Company, and announced in this blog on December 29.
