First the good news, then the correct answer

At a drawing held at Art Lovers Trading Company this morning, the winning entry to the "When was ABC Liquor Mart established at its current location?" question was selected.

And the winner is -- __click to see who___ .

Everyone in the drawing answered 1955, "according to the commercial" --except for one answer (based on the recollection of someone who was there at the time) -- 1959! -- which turns out to be the actual date. So not only was this contest fun, but also instructive.

There will be another chance for everyone in On The Square's next audience participation contest in February. Can't tell you what it is, yet, but it has something to do with the location of Carbondale's first "Natural Foods" co-op on Jackson St.
